Professor have multiple qualifications and experience. There is a very high standard for academics even during the Pandemic and online classes, teachers modified their lessons and adapted well to the change. This gets pricey after a while, especially during spring break! There is a Dennys, Starbucks, McDonalds, CVS and TGI Fridays within walking distance of the school, but other than that, you need to Uber or have a car in the area to get around. While the party scene is fun, there is not much to do in the local area around campus.
Best school ever!įreshman: I have loved my time at UMiami so far! There is a great party scene here if that is what you are interested in, but if you're not, you will fit in here as well. There are many dorms on campus and off campus housing that is walkable distance from campus. Any student can join IM sports which personally is one of my favorite experiences at the university.

Basketball and football games are free to students and there are many other fun activities to watch or be apart of. Landis green, which is an open grass lot in the middle of campus, is a popular spot for students to do homework, throw a football, have a picnic, etc. I am able to take law related classes to learn more about my hopeful future career. I am in the Social Science and Public Policy College studying political science. Most of my professors are dedicated and willing to go above and beyond for their students! It was the best decision for me to go to school here. The university offers so many clubs and organizations to get involved in. Senior: To begin, Florida State has a beautiful campus that makes me feel right at home. Gainesville is a wonderful city filled with many wonders and is nearby to some of the most beautiful areas in Florida. There are so many different areas on campus, including amazing nature and even bat cages! They also have a huge fruit and vegetable garden and a food pantry with free items for students. It is also a very sports-centered school so as someone who is not a fan of sports, sometimes that left me feeling left out. I will say the student, faculty, and staff population was not as diverse as I would have liked it to be, and I hope they're working on making that aspect better. Although UF is very STEM-focused, the liberal arts courses are varied and offer great education. Once I got into my sociology major, I took multiple classes that were within my specific interests and my professors offered great views on these topics. Alum: The education I received at the University of Florida was excellent.
